Marjeane Caterers began in 1977, out of the home of Marlin and Jean Wert.  A couple with five children. The Werts worked out of their home, doing off Premise Catering. They soon were becoming well known in the Lansdale Pennsylvania area.

Deciding there was a need for a catering facility where their clients could hold their private parties, they went scouting for a building large enough to accommodate a full service catering hall.  After months of looking, Marlin and Jean Wert came across the Old T.D. Keyser building in Lansdale PA. Another few months of negotiations and the deal was made. In the mean time another child was added to the family, after 5 daughters they had a son.

They turned the key to open the new Marjeane Caterers Facility on March 10, 1983 and started renovations. Marjeane Caterers hosted their first wedding at their beautiful Banquet Facility on June 10th of that year. Their plan was to have two banquet rooms. The Candlelite Room was opened the first year and they planned to create & open the Garden Room the following year.  However, the response was so great, that they were forced to renovate and open the Garden Room by September of 1983.

Over the years, the Werts have catered thousands of weddings, banquets, and other private events. Their children have all worked in the family business throughout the years, but only one daughter, Jeannie, truly had the love for it.

Marlin and Jean Wert retired in 2002 after 25 years at Marjeane Caterers and raising SIX children. Five daughters are married and between them have presented the Werts with fourteen grandchildren. (14!!!)

Their son, who served as a Specialist in the US Army's 3rd Infantry, returned home in 2002 and married his sweetheart Anne on May 10, 2003 . Naturally, his wedding reception was held at Marjeane Caterers.  In 2006 Jon & Anne gave the Werts their 15th grandchild!!

Jean has been in the Marjeane Caterers family business since she was a teenager, starting in the coat room. She attended Bucks County Community College to study the Food Service Business. She has worked in every aspect of the catering business and has 23 years of experience.

The Werts feel very fortunate that Marjeane Caterers, can continue under very qualified ownership. Jean and Brian Lutz have done renovations of their own since taking over and loyal clients rave that these renovations are magnificent.
